And then you wake up . . . . .

Ah, those golden retirement years have arrived along with a reality checklist!! Do you remember how you longed for the day you could leisurely get up, sit by the window, sip on that favorite beverage of the morning and completely read through the mornings news? This scenario is fine for the first few days, but then reality begins to sink in. You begin to contemplate just what in this world have you done with your life, what will your loved ones remember about you, what type of mark have you left upon this world that is of benefit to the rest of mankind. Have you helped anyone in need, cheered up the sad or made someone feel glad? And then . . . it hits, you take a deep breathe and you start to visualize your own sanity of existence. Thoughts like, I've done what I've done, can't redo, even smiled along the way, but what about tomorrow? seem to ooze through what use to be a very sharp, quick-thinking brain. You slowly sit down that cup of beverage, take a deep sigh, and ever so slowly a faint smile appears. Reality is sinking in . . . treasure the moment!

Thus, those 'Golden Retirement, Trying Years' begin to form. This is where I'm at . . . trying to formulate those 'years' and make the most of them, finding that sometimes there just isn't enough time in a day to do or accomplish all you desire, but oh well, you're retired!!
